Case report

This is a case of a third trimester fetus with a trabecular septal defect. As it is commonly observed, the trans-defect flow was bidirectional during systole. No other cardiac or extra-cardiac anomalies were found.

Images 1, 2: Four-chamber views of the heart. Images show a small ventricular septal defect of trabecular type (arrows). LV - left ventricle; RV - right ventricle; LA - left atrium; RA - right atrium; Ao - aorta.

Image 3: The image show a color Doppler image of the ventricular septal defect with the bidirectional flow at the level of the four-chamber view of the heart.
