This 32-year-old primigravida had a 3rd trimester ultrasound examination that was unremarkable aside for the presence of a large mass at the level of the left side of the neck.

Normal face:

Normal spine but mixed echogenicity lesion on the left lateral aspect:

The 20 by 20 cm mass

The newborn after cesarean-section. She did not need resuscitation.

The mass was surgically removed but the newborn died of infectious complications 10 days later
