False ventricular septal defect
Francois Manson, MD
France
This is a fetus with a suspicion of a perimembranous ventricular septal defect. After the birth, the baby has a normal heart anatomy. This artifact is due to the section being just between the aorta and the pulmonary artery. This is explained in the Pitfalls and Artifacts lecture.
