Newer ultrasonographic imaging technologies enable to view fetal structures in a way that was unconceivable only few years ago. One such imaging techniques is Sono AVC (Automated Volume Calculations) that GE (General Electric) has released a few months ago. Although this tool is usually used to calculate volume and count of ovarian follicles, it can also serve as an interesting technique to depict fetal heart anatomy and calculate volume of cardiac chambers.
Here is a demonstration of the SonoAVC applied in fetal echocardiography.
