Diastematomyelia

This is a G2P1 woman with no relevant past obstetrical history. A scan performed at 22 weeks revealed:
- An echogenic mass in the spinal canal just anterior to a vertebral body at the level of T12-L1 with the overlying skin intact
- No signs to suggest meningomyelocele
- No cranial signs of spina bifida (Arnold Chiari ruled out)
- Normal limbs with normal movements
- Fetal echocardiography was normal
- No other associated anomalies
The diagnosis was a diastematomyelia.
